Governing Company Member, Real Live Theatre
Associate Artist, Pauline Productions
I am a theatre director and teacher of acting, directing, and theatre history and appreciation, to students of all ages. I hold a BA in Theatre from Smith College and an MFA in Directing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I was a 2012 participant of the Shakespeare & Company Month Long Intensive, and am a past recipient of the Looking Glass Theatre Space Grant, the Dragon’s Egg Studio Residency, and the Samuel A. Eliot, Jr./Julia Heflin Award for Distinguished Directing at Smith College. I am a governing company member of Real Live Theatre and an Associate Artist of Pauline Productions. My main focus is on the creation of adaptations of classic texts, using actor improvisation and exploration to find new, personal ways of telling old stories. My work explores cross-generational relationships and a deep opening to the present moment. I draw on the work of acting teachers Konstantin Stanislavski, Anne Bogart, and Kristin Linklater to foster dynamic vulnerability and presence.
